I’m Yann Pierce, a filmmaker, editor, and creative based in New York, currently studying film. My work lives between experimentation and emotion. I’m inspired by memory, movement, spirituality, and the feeling of melancholy often found in Asian cinema. I’m drawn to visuals that feel immersive, intimate, and lived in rather than overly polished. A lot of my inspiration comes from Wong Kar-wai, Hou Hsiao-hsien, Akira Kurosawa, Spike Lee, Bong Joon-ho, Ryan Coogler, and the surreal atmosphere of David Lynch.
Right now I focus on experimental films, music videos, and spec advertisements for brands. My work blends fashion, texture, sound, and atmosphere into visually curated pieces. Photography has also been a major part of my creative identity for years. Recently I’ve been exploring more editorial and fashion-focused work through still imagery. My ambition is to create films that feel human. Films that connect people, uplift others, and leave emotion behind long after they end. While I’m currently focused on experimental and commercial work, my long-term goal is to create a feature film with the same emotional honesty and visual language that inspires me today. To me, film is more than content. It’s memory preserved in motion.
